What the extension reads

Read & Note Assistant reads the active webpage only after you click the extension and start a summary. It extracts readable page text so an AI model can generate a summary or note.

The extension may store notes, page titles, source URLs, tags, categories, daily usage counts, and basic settings in your browser.

AI providers and API keys

You can choose your preferred AI provider and enter your own API key. Depending on your settings, webpage text may be sent to providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, DeepSeek, Moonshot/Kimi, or Alibaba Qwen.

API keys are kept in browser session storage and are not saved into your notes. After closing or restarting the browser, you may need to enter the key again.

User control

The extension does not continuously read every page you visit. It reads the current page only when you start an action.

You can delete local notes and categories inside the extension.

Data sale

We do not sell user data.
